PHANTOM Gen 4 wireless triaxial
vibration sensor
Data sheets:
The Gen 4 measures vibration on all three axes and returns waveform, FFT spectrum and RMS velocity. It
threads onto a standard 1/4-28 UNF stud or magnet base, weighs 185 g at 47 x 33 mm, and carries an IP69
rating in an ABS and stainless housing rated from -40 °C to 80 °C.
Two versions cover opposite problems. The high-range EPH-V83 reads 0 Hz to 8 kHz across ±15 / ±30 / ±60 g,
for assets with strong broadband vibration. The high-sensitivity EPH-V82 reads 0 Hz to 4 kHz across ±4 / ±8 /
±16 g at 500 mV/g, for slow or quiet machines where the signal you're after is small. Which one goes on the
machine is a conversation worth having before the order, and it is one we have with you.
Sensing resolution is 460 µg on both, with a spectral noise floor from 20 µg/√Hz. That figure decides
whether an early bearing defect shows up in the spectrum or sits underneath the sensor's own background —
which matters more than a headline bandwidth number.
The Gen 4 holds ATEX and IECEx certification for gas and dust atmospheres, so it can go on assets in
classified areas. One CR2477 lithium cell is rated for 65,000 measurements. The sensor drops to 6-9 µA in
standby when no gateway is in range, and wakes on its own to report when vibration crosses the threshold you
set.
