Welder/Fabricator/Pipe Fitter

The Welder/Fabricator/Pipefitter will assist in developing the company's welding department and maintaining welding equipment. This position will apply their knowledge to the company's marine, industrial, and manufacturing clientele, as well as apply their mechanical aptitude to act as a mechanic when assigned. Welder/Fabricator must be proficient with Tig and Mig processes and the ideal candidate will be required to successfully pass a 3G, 4G, and 6G welder qualification with aluminum, stainless steel, steel and cooper nickel. Candidates must have 3-5 years of previous experience with maritime standard industry practices of various welding processes. This position requires up to 25% - 50% travel per year. Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal communication. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends (overtime pay).

Technical Manager

The Technical Manager is responsible for managing, overseeing, supervising and motivating the Field Service Engineers, and Field Service Technicians. The Technical Manager is accountable and responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that the AME's projects involve. Position will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. Estimate new work and oversee/assist with billable time and budget. Supervise quality control of the company's engineering/technical services and providing engineering solutions to marine and industrial clientele. As a member of the AME leadership team, this position will provide guidance to solve problems and provide technical solutions for rotating machinery in accordance with the customer's service requirements. The Technical Manager is responsible for educating the service team on safety practices and ensure the shops are a safe environment. Comprehensive field service report writing is a requirement. Qualified candidate must hold a maritime engineering degree and/or mechanical engineering degree and have 5+ years of experience managing a team.

Lead Hydraulic Technician - Maritime

The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, service, and repairing all types of hydraulic systems and components in the maritime and industrial fields. Some hydraulic equipment includes, but are not limited to, steering systems, bow thrusters, davits, deck equipment, pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders. Qualified candidates must have 5-8 years of previous experience with maritime standard industry practices of various hydraulic processes and components, including cranes, davits, winches, capstans, etc. This position requires up to 25% - 50% travel per year. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends (overtime pay).

Two Open Spots for Summer 2020

AME offers a few summer internships annually for college students who are interested in working in the marine and industrial mechanical engineering field. Interns will be able to get an inside look on day-to-day activities led by AME's experienced Field Service Engineers/Technicians and Shop Team while having the opportunity to have hands-on training by joining in on numerous jobs during the duration of the summer program. Eligible interns who have successfully completed the internship can have the opportunity to transition to full-time employment.
