Precision Laser Alignment Achieves Impeccable Results for Local Port's Cranes and Motors
Our team recently visited a local port to perform a precision laser alignment on cranes and motors. Using our laser alignment system, we successfully aligned hoist electric motors to their respective reduction gear with impeccable accuracy.
During our visit, we ensured that the motor foundations were checked for soft foot and horizontal alignment was achieved using existing jacking arrangements. Our team then went on to torque the motor hold-down bolts to specifications, ensuring that everything stayed perfectly in place.
Finally, we performed a final alignment check to establish "As-Left" conditions. Our findings revealed that the "As-Left" alignment is well within the coupling manufacturer's allowable tolerances; however, we did discover one issue that needs attention.
Structure support based on one of the motors should be flattened (machined) to avoid excessive soft foot issues. We also strongly recommend that regular vibration analysis surveys should be incorporated regularly into the machinery's maintenance schedule to monitor its condition and identify potential issues before they cause any unplanned downtime.
