Plywood Regatta 2025: AME Mentors Jr Boat Builders to Victory

We are honored to have been a main sponsor and a team mentor sponsor, guiding two incredible groups of students as they took on this year's Annual Plywood Regatta Marine Industries Association of South Florida

We mentored a beginner team, New River Middle’s “Plywood Pioneers,” who gave it their all and brought home FIRST place in their division!

Meanwhile, Nova High’s intermediate team, “The Council,” showed so much creativity and determination.

Seeing these students, many of whom had never handled hand or power tools before, designing and building boats from scratch is always so inspiring.

We're so impressed with our team members who went above and beyond, volunteering their time and some, the entire weekend to participtate. One of our field service technicians Kenzie, went from building boats herself at plywood regatta, to mentoring a team for a few years, to now stepping into a leadership role for the event. Laz, one of our newest team members, stepped in and mentored the Plywood Pioneers to victory.! And Terry served as a judge, Demmetrius volunteered on Saturday, and Junel stopped by to show support!

We saw firsthand how this event is building confidence, skills, and connections, while introducing the younger generation to the maritime industry...one of our main corporate social responsibilities.
