Meet AME's Interns for Summer 2022
AME welcomed three interns, Ivan, Omar, and Jordan, this Summer!
During their time at AME, the interns will get an inside look at day-to-day projects led by AME's experienced service team. It doesn't stop there. The interns also have the opportunity to join in on numerous jobs, gaining hands-on experience!
Ivan recently graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Science degree in ocean engineering. While studying for his undergrad, Ivan participated in several projects where he designed and assembled an AUV (Biomimetic Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), a Wind Tunnel, and an ASV (Autonomous Surface Vehicle). When he wasn't in the classroom, Ivan was gaining experience in electronics for DPVs and manufacturing in the diving industry.
From Boca to Miami, meet Omar. A recent graduate from Florida International University, Omar has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. While completing his undergrad, Omar was involved in numerous projects where he created a 5-cylinder radial engine, developed a program that was able to comprehend and yield temperature and wind speed values and constructed a machine that would assist miners in the extraction and separation of gold without the use of mercury.
Last but not least, we have Jordan - a graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in ocean engineering. While studying at FIT, Jordan worked as an undergraduate research assistant under Naval Architect Dr. Sahoo and Ocean Engineer Dr. Wood. As an RA, Jordan gained experience working on vessel jobs that involved researching and testing yacht hull structures and leading a team to build/design a semi-autonomous research vessel with a deployable ROV. Jordan's experience extends beyond FIT. He spent several summers interning for numerous industry engineering companies ranging from naval architecture to ocean engineering to manufacturing.
We are thrilled to have them aboard for the summer!
