Marine News: Project Perfect Storm

What is Project Perfect Storm?

AME is proud to have contributed to the success of Project Perfect Storm (PPS), a collaborative effort to design and deliver a high-performance offshore interceptor vessel by Ocean Craft Marine. This vessel achieves exceptional speed, handles extreme sea conditions, supports multi-mission modularity, improves efficiency, enhances crew situational awareness, and extends operational durations.

PPS was a joint effort involving industry leaders, including the team here at AME, AkzoNobel, David Clark Company, Herfing Marine, Military Systems Group, Ocean Craft Marine, Roam, Porta Performance and Products Corporation, Seakeeper, Skydex, TMS Group USA, Ullman, Tactical Revolution, Tocaro Blue, Livorsi Marine, Total Sim US, Sharrow Marine, Iten Defense, LLC, CopaSAT, and BRNKL.

What AME Contributed

After modifications to a pre-fabricated hull, including applying fairing compound and hand-molding a more hydrodynamic surface, testing revealed exceptional performance in the design.

Advanced Mechanical Enterprises (AME) was brought in to scan the hull bottom and create an accurate CAD model of the updated design. The CAD model will allow the hull manufacturer to develop tooling for reproducing the design and transitioning the hull into production.

AME’s precision scanning and modeling services ensure that innovative designs like this can move seamlessly from prototype to production, maintaining performance and efficiency throughout the process.

We’re honored to be part of this project and can’t wait to share more milestones as they happen.
