Marine News: AME Supports Major Yard Period for University Research Vessel
AME recently supported a major shipyard project on a university research vessel during a scheduled maintenance period at a Florida shipyard.
The project included hull target measurements, running gear service, shaft and propeller work, optical alignment checks, pitch control troubleshooting and calibration, and post-work vibration analysis during sea trial.
Dry dock measurements to final underway testing, AME’s team worked through each step to help verify alignment, machinery condition, and vessel performance before the research vessel returned to service.
The final vibration analysis showed the vessel performing well with no exceptions, giving the customer valuable confirmation after a detailed maintenance period.
Projects show how combining field service, precision measurement, alignment, and vibration analysis can support reliable vessel operations.
