JA Sea the World Storefront Renewed for Another Three-Year Term

Eight years later, and this mission is still growing...

In March, we held the renewal ribbon-cutting for the next three-year term of the JA Sea the World Storefront at Junior Achievement of South Florida. It was such a special night, and it means so much to see this initiative continue to grow.

One of the best parts of the evening was reconnecting with our partners and hearing Jacob Wilson’s story. He first entered this industry through the pre-apprenticeship program, then Marine Industries Association of South Florida/MIASF's yacht apprenticeship program, and now he is building his career in the maritime industry with DeAngelo Marine Exhaust Inc., one of JA Sea the World’s partners. It was a true full-circle moment.

We're proud to have one of our own apprentices at AME, Richcardee Julmiste, who started with us through the JA six-month pre-apprenticeship program and is now building on that in the two-year MIASF Yacht Apprenticeship Program.

We loved seeing so many new partners step in. That shows me the message is spreading, and more companies understand that if we want a strong future workforce, we need to invest in students now.

So thankful for all of our partners, and for colleagues and friends, Megan Lagasse, Lisa Morley, and Lori Wheeler, who continue to support this initiative and believe in what we are building together.

The goal has always been simple...introduce students to the maritime industry and give them a path forward.

And we are just getting started!! Want to learn how to get involved? Visit the JA Sea the World website.
