Inspired Action at Port Everglades Association Luncheon

As a proud member of the Port Everglades Association, with Rich Merhige representing AME on the board, we’ve seen how collaboration creates meaningful connections in the maritime industry. And March's PEA Luncheon was no different.

We were honored to sponsor the March luncheon alongside Maritime Professional Training and CBRE.

Meeting U.S. Representative Brian Mast was a real highlight of the day. His leadership and dedication struck a chord with everyone in the room, reminding us of how working across industries creates opportunities that stretch far beyond our businesses.

Special thanks to Lori Baer, who consistently delivers amazing luncheons that everyone looks forward to attending. These gatherings serve as a platform to spotlight causes that are part of our Corporate Social Responsibility. For us at AME, that means Junior Achievement of South Florida. We’re so happy to continue supporting the JA Sea The World program, extending our commitment through the 2025–2028 school term.

Seeing more than 70% of the audience raise their hands when asked if they were familiar with Junior Achievement was incredible. Moments like that remind us of our progress and the growing awareness of programs like JA’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program and the Maritime Storefront, Sea The World.

When speaking to the room, we invited businesses to take two impactful steps:

Open their facilities—including maritime operations, construction sites, and utilities—to host field trips for the JA Pre-Apprenticeship Program. These real-world experiences inspire students and show them the endless possibilities their futures hold. The response was extraordinary, with many stepping up to offer their support.

Become donor partners for the JA Sea The World Maritime Industry Storefront at Finance Park. These partnerships help create an inspiring environment for students to explore careers and develop skills.

At AME Solutions, we pour our hearts into moments like these. Seeing businesses excited to get involved and students benefitting from future opportunities makes all our hard work worthwhile. Want to get involved? Reach out to Christine Battles or contact us here.
