Christine Battles and the JA of South Florida Team Visit the USCG Miami Beach Base

Captain Chris Cederholm recently toured Junior Achievement of South Florida to see the maritime storefront, Sea The World.

The tables turned when he invited us - Christine Battles, Diana Metcalf, and Dr. Shernette Grant, with JA of South Florida - for an exclusive tour of the Miami Beach Coast Guard Base and its fleet and to treat us to lunch on base.

What an experience! This is a stride in our efforts to engage USCG in the JA maritime storefront, the pre-apprenticeship program and so many other educational programs that JA offers - basically an overall collaboration with Junior Achievement of South Florida. Exciting developments are coming soon!

We're also talking about how our maritime partners can hire those coming out of service and directly into careers to help our workforce.WinWin

And wouldn't you know it, our Advanced Mechanical Enterprises/AME Team was working on one of the vessels alongside Phoenix International Holdings, Inc., our client. Full-circle!!
