AME Welcomes Maritime Bootcamp Students

AME was proud to welcome more than 30 recent high school graduates and young adults during Junior Achievement of South Florida’s maritime bootcamp at Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center. 

The students rotated through several marine businesses at LMC, including AME, TDW Marine, High Seas Hydraulics and Foster’s Yacht Services, to learn more about the career opportunities available within South Florida’s marine industry.

During the AME tour, our team introduced the students to the mechanical reliability services we provide and showed them how we support rotating and reciprocating machinery in the field and from our Fort Lauderdale machine shops. Paul, AME's Operations Manager, walked the group through a PSE seal and explained its different components and applications.

Thank you to Prem Lee Barbosa the Apprentice Coordinator with Marine Industries Association of South Florida, Junior Achievement of South Florida, Lauderdale Marine Center and all the participating companies for working together to give these students a hands-on look at the industry and the professionals who keep it moving.

Building the next generation of the marine workforce starts by giving young people the opportunity to see the work up close and understand the many career paths available right here in South Florida.
