AME Supports the Next Generation at MIASF’s Plywood Regatta 2026

AME was proud to be part of MIASF’s 29th Annual Plywood Regatta, a South Florida marine industry tradition that brings middle school, high school and marine technical school students together with industry mentors and local companies for two hands-on days of boat building and racing.

Using plywood, zip ties, caulk and hand tools, the teams had one day to build, paint and name their boats before putting them to the test on race day.

AME’s Christine Battles, once again served as emcee, helping keep the energy going throughout the weekend and guiding everyone through race day.

A special shoutout also goes to Mackenzie Malloy, who served as race coordinator. Mackenzie’s history with the Plywood Regatta goes all the way back to middle school, when she participated as a student. Now, after dedicating so many years to the event, she is helping the next generation have that same experience as Race Coordinator.
