AME Joins MIASF Waterway Cleanup

From land to sea, AME was proud to take part in MIASF’s Waterway Cleanup on March 7.

Our team split up to cover more ground. AME's Technical Projects Supervisor, Tony Planamento joined the land cleanup with Young Professionals in Yachting USA, while the rest of us headed out by boat to clean the canals of Pompano Beach, where AME is a site sponsor. On the water were Rich Merhige and Christine Battles, Donna Lindenmayer and her husband, and Jayme Bishop and her wife, Alicia.

One of the best moments of the day was stopping by a house along the canal. The family saw what we were doing, and the mom and her little son (maybe three years old!) started helping clean up their canal too. It was such a sweet moment.

Throughout the day, we had so many people on their docks and in their backyards asking what we were doing, and thanking the Marine Industries Association of South Florida for helping keep the waterways clean!
