Stephen Hughes // Manager/Service Engineer

Stephen Hughes - Manager/Service Engineer


Stephen brings over 20 years of rotating machinery experience to AME as a Manager/Service Engineer. He is an ASNT-TC-1A Level I Vibration Analyst and is highly skilled in the optical and laser alignment of rotating and reciprocating machinery.


Stephen’s extensive background in the marine industry has given him a thorough knowledge of the removal and reinstallation of onboard ship equipment such as water jets, main engines, reduction gears, generators, running gear, bow thrusters, vessel piping and plumbing systems. He has over 15 years of experience in the service, removal, installation and repair of Wartsila seals. Additionally, he is trained in the operation of machining equipment, welding and fitting.


Prior to joining AME, Stephen was Foreman at some of South Florida’s largest marinas and shipyards.

Andy Lynskey // Manager/Service Engineer

Andy Lynskey - Manager/Service Engineer


Andy is one of AME’s Managers/Service Engineers and is responsible for onsite vibration surveys, analysis, laser/optical alignment and project management. He provides predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance solutions through his vast experience. He has specialized training and advanced certifications which include; Level II - ISO category III Vibration Analysis, Field Dynamic Balancing Certification, MCA Y3 Chief Engineer STCW 95 A-III-2 (Management), Institute of Corrosion (UK) – Cathodic Protection Technician, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance, High Power Switchboard Operators Certificate as well as a NVQ Level 3 in Leadership & Management.


Andy’s specializations include the computerized precision laser alignment of large drive trains; propulsion and pumping machinery; the precision optical alignment of marine shafting arrangements, in addition to vibration analysis and diagnostics.


Prior to joining the AME team, Andy was Chief Engineer on several yachts and proudly served in the British Royal Navy as an engineer for 12 years.

Marlon Gomez  // Service Technician

Marlon Gomez - Service Technician


As a Service Technician, Marlon’s area of expertise is in laser alignment and pumps. He is an ASNT-TC-1A Certified Level 1Vibration Analyst and has taken courses in Shaft Alignment and ABS. He is also a skilled welder and fabricator and has a comprehensive background as a yacht mechanic. Additionally, Marlon holds a Bachelor degree in marketing from Centro Universitario Del Norte.

Chris Snodgrass // Senior Service Technician

Chris Snodgrass - Senior Service Technician


As a Senior Service Technician, Chris’ expertise lies in the laser and optical alignment of engines and running gears. His experience in machining also has him playing an integral role at AME’s shop and he is equally skilled at removing and reinstalling onboard ship equipment, engine maintenance and overhauls. Additionally, Chris performs inspections, prepares estimates for clients and is a Shipyard Competent Person. Rounding out his knowledge is his comprehensive background with Kamewa jet removals and reinstallations and Naiad stabilizer service and maintenance. Prior to joining AME, Chris was an Assistant Foreman at one of South Florida’s largest shipyards and a Technician for a diesel engine repair shop and marina.

Junel Adarne // Service Engineer

Junel Adarne - Service Engineer


Junel is an AME Service Engineer with a comprehensive background and knowledge in diesel engines, including performance, repairs, maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, overhauls and failure analysis. He started as a Cadet Engineer for Monark Equipment Corporation, the Caterpillar dealer in the Philippines in 1994, gaining extensive experience on the Caterpillar 3600 barges (3616x39) and land based installations. In 1997, he was aggressively recruited to join the dealer in Nicaragua to support the CENSA Power Station with 3616 x 9 and Cat CM32 X 4 engines as technician. Caterpillar International Power System (CIPS) then took him on as the Site Engineer. CIPS then passed this contract to Energy International, Inc. where he retained his position. He later joined Machinery and Energy, Limited in the Bahamas in 2006 as a Service Technician, gaining additional experience on Cat 3500 and 3600 Marine and Industrial applications.


In his current role at AME, he continues to expand his experience in laser and optical alignment, vibration analysis and performing state-of-the-art Windrock Diesel Analyzer Surveys that provide for more in-depth analysis of diesel engine performance.

Mario Mimura // Service Technician

Mario Mimura - Service Technician


Mario has over 15 years experience in Predictive and Preventative Maintenance. He has completed comprehensive, advanced coursework for vibration analysis, laser and optical alignment and dynamic balancing. Prior to joining AME, Mimura worked for one of the leaders in the national market for predictive and preventative maintenance.

James Galinaitis // Service Engineer

James Galinaitis - Service Engineer


James joined AME in 2011 with 6 years of total experience in Marine Engineering Services, 2 of which he served as Chief Engineer on a 40m yacht. Prior to his technical experience at AME, James worked as a Service Technician for 2 years, helping to install and design marine monitoring systems. He is currently working to fine-tune his technical skills, particularly in Vibration Analysis and Laser and Optical Alignment. Rounding out his resume, James was an accomplished computer programmer for 8 years for various government contracts.
