Summary: AME’s Hydraulic Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic systems and components. Required, 2-3 years experience with relative experience in the fluid power industry, proficient in standard industry practices, and fluent in English, both written and verbal.This job position requires 25 and up to 50% of travel per year.

Jr. Machinist/Fabricator

Summary: Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. Repair or make parts for existing machinery. Select proper stock and set up of work on lathes, milling machines, internal and external grinders, drill presses, saws and cylinder, or line-boring machines. Work from sketches, diagrams, blueprints, written specifications, or oral instructions. Use precision measuring devices to include micrometers, Vernier gauges, and various other gauges and the subsequent adjustment of machine tool controls. Fabrication of metals. Maintenance of all shop equipment is performed to ensure that serviceability is sustained. Reporting of work completion, and cleanliness of machine shop areas.

Welder/Fabricator

Summary: The Welder/Fabricator will assist in developing the company’s welding department and maintaining welding equipment. This position will apply their knowledge to the company’s marine, industrial, and manufacturing clientele, as well as apply their mechanical aptitude and can act as a mechanic when assigned. Welder/Fabricator must be proficient with Tig and Mig processes and the ideal candidate will be required to successfully pass a 3G, 4G, and 6G welder qualification with aluminum, stainless steel, steel and cooper nickel. Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal communication. This job position requires 25% and up to 50% of domestic travel per year .

Summary: The Mechanic/Technician performs work to the maintenance, repair, and alignment of rotating machinery (namely marine and industrial clientele). The Mechanic/Technician has a mechanical aptitude and is able to perform tasks to fix equipment. They also display a varied knowledge of marine vessels, hand tools and machinery. Summary: The Field Service Engineer provides our technical services and solutions to marine and industrial customers. As an AME team member, you work independently (a times with a team) to solve problems and provide technical solutions for rotating machinery in accordance with the customer’s service requirements. The Field Service Engineer is required to have strong mechanical aptitude, written/verbal communication, and the ability to verbally communicate technical issues with the customer. Required, 4year degree in mechanical engineering and must be fluent in English, both written and verbal. This job position requires 25 and up to 50% of travel per year.

Vibration Analyst (level III or IV)

Summary: AME’s Vibration Analyst performs predictive or reliability analysis on rotating and reciprocating machinery in the marine and industrial sector. The experienced Vibration Analyst will create custom databases/plots and perform vibration analysis using condition monitoring systems. Afterwards, the Vibration Analyst will write a report based on findings and recommendations for customers. Other responsibilities include assisting Field Service Engineers and Technicians on various project work. Qualified candidates must possess a ISO 18436-2 certificate Level III or higher. Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal communication. This job position requires 25% and up to 50% of travel per year worldwide.


AME Summer Internship Program Spot Filled For Summer 2018

AME offers a few summer internships annually for college students who are interested in working in the marine and industrial mechanical engineering field. Interns will be able to get an inside look on day-to-day activities led by AME’s experienced Field Service Engineers/Technicians and Shop Team while having the opportunity to have hands-on training by joining in on numerous jobs during the duration of the summer program.
